Bueno, finalmente ha llegado la hora, a partir de este momento comienza el concurso GeeksRoom HP Better Together Giveaways, con la posibilidad de que una persona se lleve el paquete de premios que consiste en una Notebook HP Pavilion dv6 con Windows Vista , una netbook HP Mini 110 con Windows XP, Syncables Software y una backpack Timbuk2 con el logo de GeeksRoom.
Las reglas para participar son las siguientes:
- Participación en este concurso implica la aceptación total de las reglas del mismo.
- Las personas ganadoras de alguno de los concursos HP Better Together Giveaways, no podrán participar en otros concursos del mismo que se desarrollan en los demás blogs participantes.
- Para obtener un número es necesario cumplir con uno solo de los siguientes 3 requisitos:
1. Suscribirse a las feeds de Geeksroom. No se olviden de confirmar la suscripción cuando reciban el email de Feedburner, que es nuestro distribuidor de RSS feeds. - Solo una entrada por participante. Si se reciben más de una entrada por participante, serán removidas del concurso.
- Ningún familiar de Hector Russo podrá participar del concurso.
- El concurso se desarrollará desde el momento en que se publica este post, hasta el día 3 de Setiembre a las 6:00 P.M. Dallas Time.

Soy lo que se llama «DigitalDj». Dj’s que solo utilizan computadores y controladores MIDI. Nada de vinilos, nada de Cd’s.
Lo ocuparía exlusivamente para eso, generar una suit de trabajo a traves de dos controladores MIDI conectados entre si, que permitiran hacer que ambos portatiles trabajen conectados, entregando mayor versatilidad a las mezlcas y al trabajo como Dj.

Seria algo tonto que se desuscribieran y se vuelvan a suscribir, ya que dejando un comentario por aqui contandome como y donde usaran el premio si es que ganan o enviando el mensaje por Twitter ya esta. Por eso lo aclare en las reglas, si estan suscriptos desde antes del concurso, deben de cumplir cualquiera de los dos restantes requerimientos!

Bueno creo que me explique mal en el comentario anterior, yo me acabo de subscribir al feed hoy… pero de todos modos comento que de resultar ganador le daría mucho uso al equipo ya estoy en el último semestre de mi carrera de ingeniería en sistemas computacionales, además de que también planeo estudiar una maestría en ciencias de la computación, por lo tanto estos dos equipos me caerían de perlas, ya que actualmente solo tengo desktop.

La notebook sería para trabajar comodamente en casa, el tiempo que permanezco ahi, y la netbook, para la mayoría del tiempo que estoy trabajando / terminando mis estudios y necesito una máquina de fácil transporte y que sea disimulada de llevar (la situación en Argentina no es la ideal para andar paseandose con un bolso de notebook, asi que el Timbuk2 vendría joya!)

If i win the bundle, i would give the laptop to my big sister because she doesn’t have a laptop for college. I would keep the mini because its portable and can bring it anywhere. Also i would keep the bag which i really need because my messenger bag is falling apart.

Me gustaría el premio para mis padres, sería una excelente manera para que ellos no solo tengan su pc (mi papa tiene una computadora vieja) sino que además aprendan a usar internet (mi mamá quiere aprender a usar computadoras). Si ganara el paquete usaría la notebook para aplicar mis estudios de informática, ya que la computadora de escritorio de mi casa la compartimos entre varios, además tendría cierta libertad al momento de usarla. A la netbook se la regalaría a alguna de mis hermanas para que puedan sacarle todo el provecho en la facultad, porque sé que les hace falta.

Tienes toda la razón, aún así creo que haces bien en especificarlo (más aún) con la actualización.
Bueno, pues ya que comento por segunda vez explico que a mi me vendría de perlas, especialmente, el HP mini y la backpack para trabajar haciendo inventarios de bosques. Llevar el laptop es una carga y no se pueden ver resultados hasta que volvemos al despacho (con lo que si existe algún error grave tenemos que volver otro día).
Bueno este es solo uno de los muchos usos que le daría.

I will give one laptop to my sister. I will use the other for my web and software development for work and school.
I’m a commuting second year nursing student, so i’m usually carrying around a lot! I would use the bigger laptop at home writing my outlines, care plans, and papers. The smaller one will be taken to classes so I can keep notes on it and also keep up with email.
I’m going to use the bundle to replace my 4 year old computer. It struggles with media heavy webpages and new applications/games. I’d use the HP DV6 for home video projects, gaming, and work and the HP 110 for taking notes, checking email, and general surfing on the go. Thanks!
If I were to win the computers I would use the netbook myself to replace my computer which is about 10 years old and I would give my wife the laptop as she is starting a graduate program this fall and I know that she could use the computer greatly with her courses.

Por fin un sitio en español que la lanza el concurso.
Trabajo dando clases matematicas usando algunos softwares, el problema es que la escuela no tiene recursos para comprar computadoras. Al tener una laptop me facilitaria mucho mi trabajo por que podria tener una computadora donde mostrar esos softwares y estar aplicandolos constantemente (asi los niños aprenderian mejor). Ademas de que ayudo haciendo los horarios de clases y administrando una pequeña biblioteca.

My ultimate dream is to own, or rent a smallholding and to grow enough fruit and vegetables to keep my family for the whole year. To help with this goal I would love to go to college to study business and agriculture. If I won the competition, I would keep one of the computers at home and use it for online research and studyiny. I would take the smaller one to college with me to help me to be more organised in class.
If I win, I would use the netbook for school as my current laptop’s battery life isn’t even long enough to get me through 1 class. I would probably give the laptop to my parents for their use.

My son is going to University next month. The notebook would be ideal for him with the back pack. I would keep the netbook as I do not have a portable PC.
I would use the big laptop to give my husband because he has a pentium 2 desktop computer(old as the hills) I would give the mini laptop to my 17 year old daughter and we could all share the software.
If I win I’ll sue the laptop for school starting the end of september for my computer science classes and ill probably give my dad or brother the netbook.

If I will win the 2 laptops, I am going to use it in my work.. Because I work as a graphic artist, the HP DV6’s power will greatly improve my productivity. The HP mini on the other hand will greatly improve my mobility since I will have a mini laptop to carry around with me when I travel. The Syncables software will make it easy to sync my files between the two laptops.
Yo hablo espaniol, pero voy a escribir esto en ingles jejeje. Ok, So the question is about what I’m going to be using this combo for. Basically, I am in school, and involved in church, I really want a way to stay connected, and have my stuff with me. I live with my family, and I know that in a few weeks, everyone is going to be writing papers, and I myself have 3 classes with at least a partial online component, so the extra laptop would be great for this busy college student lol.

If I was to win the bundle, my first and foremost use would be for college I’m starting next week at Northeastern. The dv6 would be for the heavy graphic design projects I’m planning on doing. My passion has been for both computers and creating art, what better way to practice both?
The netbook would be given to my little brother, who doesn’t require much in the way of creating projects yet. He just cares for internet surfing (he’s 13).
But, who’s to say I won’t use the killer graphics card for some on the side of collegic work (after finishing said work, of course.)
I am a high school student (16 years old) and I have lots of talents. I can sketch pictures professionally, I write songs, I’m skilled at playing recorder, and etc. The current computer I’m using is a bit old and doesn’t have enough space to hold all of my data. Therefore, it’s hard me to promote my talent. I plan to make some money off of these things also and give back to several communites. I also plan to promote any site who gives me both laptops. I’ll use the 500 GB for business/promotion/creation of my ideas and 160 GB for schoolwork. I plan to lead a successful career while supporting/helping out others along the way. Me he dado cuenta que hay varias personas que no están siguiendo las reglas. Se supone que solo se puede entrar al concurso siguiendo solo una de las tres opciones que nos has dado, ¿no? Creo que deberías aclararlo, porque hay personas que están entrando al concurso tres veces.
Bueno, para entrar a este concurso voy a responder la pregunta número tres:
Si gano, usaría el HP Pavilion dv6 en casa. Estoy envuelta en muchas actividades, pero no tengo un ordenador propio y eso hace que me sea un poco más difícil completar ciertos trabajos de la universidad. Podría utilizar el HP Mini 110 en clase para tomar notas y también cuando voy a la biblioteca o cuando tenga que dar alguna presentación. Y gracias a la mochila de Timbuk2 no voy a estar cargando todo esto en mis brazos. Por último, el software «Syncables» me va a ayudar a mantener toda mi información sincronizada.

My son and I are both taking the Computer Science Technology course at the local tech community college, with the intention of completing a BSCS at the eastern state college. I intend to continue to a Masters at the state university, so I can teach at the local tech college, my son wants to work IT for Wycliff (the Bible translators.)
We will both use the two computers. He will get the most use of the notebook, and I will mostly use the netbook. The portability of the netbook will be a balm to my back!
I would use the main laptop to build learning modules for local teachers and then take the mini out to the schools to show them what has been made.
If I was blessed to win this contest. I will give the HP laptop to my spouse to replace her broken laptop and use the Netbook for myself.

bueno respodiendo a la pregunta.. bueno… la verdad es que seria una gran ayuda contar con esas dos laps debido a que, en mi casa contamos con 2 computadoras (una de escritorio y otra laptop) y pues somos tres hermanos (y no falta quien venga) lo que nos toca estar rotando horarios, yo la lap generalmente la estoy usando pues estoy estudiando ISC y por lo que a ellos les toca casi casi q pelearse por la desktop, mi idea es que si llego a ganar el concurso, la dv6 sera para mi y la hp mini para mi hermana pues va a ser tec en informatica y la que tengo ahorita sera para mi hermano pues le sera muy util en su carrera.

I would use the laptops mainly for school. The HP dv6 laptop would be a good laptop to design projects in AutoCAD and Matlab (two programs I need for some engineering courses). I’d also use it for school assignments, editing photographs, and surfing the net. The HP Mini 110 would be a nice alternative to the dv6 when it isn’t a priority to work on AutoCAD, especially since I usually have to bring heavy schoolbooks with me on campus. I would use the Mini for basic note taking, writing reports and surfing the net.

If I were lucky enough to win this computer, I’d give it to my husband. He currently works on a really old computer to do CAD. It’s a bit cumbersome and slow. He’s a great a guy and has made sure that the rest of the family has what we need to live a good life … but, he puts himself last and worries about us rather than something new for himself.

Personally, I would utilize the notebook in dormroom to write papers, and do most of my homework for my Bioengineering major. The netbook however, would be really useful in taking notes in class or surfing when I am not in my room. And that bag looks awesome!

I am a Reference Librarian in a diverse, economically challenged community in Massachusetts. We have limited resources and a great need for computer access for our users. Our patrons frequently have to wait to use one of our PC’s. They are doing job searches, apartment hunting, writing resumes, taking online classes, getting citizenship info and communicating with family and friends all over the world.
This equipment will be used to supplement our limited equipment, and allow us to better serve our community.

If I were to win, I’d use the package to complete my dissertation within the next year and a half. Right now I’m lugging one laptop back and forth, from campus to home. I can only imagine how cool it would be to set up the regular laptop in my home, travel with the mini version back and forth to the office, and then be able to sync the two up to keep all of my files organized. I think this has to be the best giveaway I’ve seen in the blogging world, at least as far back as I can remember! Thanks so much!

I would use this prize package to further my teaching education. I am studying to become a special education teacher, and a new laptop would really help me with reading the research articles. Also, my sister is in college that she commutes over an hour to, and so having a netbook would really benefit her as well. Thankyou.
If I win this bundle, I’ll use the larger laptop as my home computer and the smaller as my travel computer.
If I win this bundle, I will give both of the computers to my wife. She can use the netbook when she goes to school (or if we travel), and use the regular laptop at home to replace her current desktop that is slow and makes funny noises sometimes.

If I win the package, I would install Arch Linux on both the dv6 and the mini 110. Once they’re running Arch Linux and the dv6 has desktop environment installed, I would install the Arch Build System on the dv6 and compile optimized packages to be installed on the mini 110. The mini 110 would be my go everywhere machine with its snappy performance, long battery life and low weight while the dv6 will be used mainly for heavy duty media content creation and consumption, program and OS development, and website development and administration. Syncables will be used under WINE to keep critical documents in sync while the Timbuk2 bag will replace my old backpack which is sadly disintegrating from the inside out.

As I currently can’t afford one I have to write my review after the event is over – if I won this I would be able to write and blog instantly. Oh the joys of that!
If I win I plan on using it to help with my online schooling since I don’t always have the access I am in need of. I will most likely give the netbook to my little sister as a christmas gift since she has never really had anything as helpful before and the laptop would help me with my schooling and other needs.
I would use these to make my home office actually mobile for real. I have a partially home based business where a photography studio is located about 130 miles away from the retail location & must often travel back & forth, packing up & lugging my desktop once a week! I’d say the mini would become my primary computer. I had a Toshiba Portege before, and that thing went everywhere with me. Although way underpowered by today’s standards, I had it running WinXP and surfing the web outside back before there was broadband wireless.

I do have a laptop…It is old…It is slow.
The keyboard sticks because someone spilled something on it and my boss won’t replace it.
One of the two DDR memory cards died so I am running on half the memory I once had and, you guessed it, my boss won’t replace that either.
Oh yeah, and did I mention it weighs about 10lbs?
The thing is an anchor so the thought of having a shiny new laptop I can leave on my desk and an even more shiny new netbook that I can take with me when I am out of the office makes me giddy with excitement. Yo usaria la laptop pavilion para mi trabajo y la minilaptop se la regalaria a mi hermano para que la use en la secundaria.
Pues despues de que a mi Mac se le recalentara tanto la bateria (unos 80 grados) que se abombara y ademas diera «un pantallazo», que hay que reconocer que los pantallazos de Mac son mil veces mas bonitos que los azules de windows… pero mucho mas dolorosos…, Pues… necesito otro portatil… Trabajo de ello… Y es un poco dificil cuando no tienes un equipo decente…

If I win, I will keep the laptop and give my old laptop to my sister and the mini to her young daughter so they have more access to the internet & we can keep in touch. They just have one old desktop now that is on it’s last legs.
